More than 90 Lawrence University students showcased their voices when the Lawrence Concert Choir and Cantala women's choir performed at the 2014 American Choral Directors Association North Central Regional Conference March 19-20 in Des Moines, Iowa. This is the second time since 2006 Concert Choir and Cantala both were selected to perform at the ACDA's regional conference.

Bucknell University has listed the current students named to the Dean's List for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2012-13 academic year.

At Augustana College, Dr. Jenniger Burnham's cartography class was commissioned by Dr. Curt Roseman '63 to draw maps for his book, "A Century of Players, Performers, and Pagaents: Wharton Field House and Browning Field, Moline, Illinois," co-written by Dr. Roseman and Diann Moore. Seven of the students' maps were selected for publication.

The University Singers will present its annual Family Concert at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12, in Winebrenner Theological Seminary, TLB Auditorium. The group will perform several selections from Broadway shows, including "I Go to Rio" from "The Boy From Oz;" "21 Guns" from "American Idiot;" "Family" from "Dreamgirls;" and "Live, in Living Color" from "Catch Me if You Can."

The University of Findlay Jazz Ensemble presented its annual Spring Concert on Sunday, March 23. The ensemble performed several selections from the Glenn Miller Orchestra Library. Other selections included "Spain" by Chick Corea; "Birdland" by Weather Report and Manhattan Transfer; and "Afro Blue" and "Naima" by John Coltrane.

The 70-voice UF Concert-Chorale and a 50-piece orchestra will perform "The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace" by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6, in the Winebrenner Theological Seminary TLB Auditorium.

"A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" was performed at The University of Findlay Wednesday, Feb. 19 - Sunday, Feb. 23, in the Frank J. Egner Center fort the Performing Arts, John and Hester Powell Grimm Theatre.

Lawrence University students finished first and second at the recent 2014 Wisconsin Flute Festival Collegiate Competition.

The following students appeared in Lawrence University's recent (March 6-8) production of Kurt Weill's opera "Street Scene," a day-long snapshot of life in a "mean" quarter of New York City. Premiering in 1947, the opera follows the Maurrant family -- Anna, unhappily married to the brutish stagehand Frank, and their two children, Rose and Willie -- and their neighbors through an exceptionally hot 24-hour period in the summer of 1929.

The Augustana Choir, from Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois, will tour the Midwest from February 21-March 1. The nine-day, nine-concert tour will take nearly 60 students from as far north as the Twin Cities to as far east as Cincinnati, Ohio. Admission to all concerts is free, and a freewill offering will be accepted.

Christina Kunkel, a senior English and Communication Studies major from Peru, Ill., presented the findings from her summer research project at the recent Women & Society Conference at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The presentation was a condensed version of Kunkel's feminist media analysis on HBO's hit series, Games of Thrones, focusing on gender, femininity and power relations within the patriarchal context of the show.
