The Augustana College chapter of Phi Beta Kappa has elected 57 senior students to membership. Phi Beta Kappa is the nation's oldest and most widely known academic honor society. Membership is granted upon reflection of outstanding academic achievement and the high opinions the faculty have of the awarded seniors.

Augustana College announced 858 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2013 winter term. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.

Clemson University nursing students worked at a clinic in San Juan de la Maguana in the Dominican Republic during spring break. The students helped with education and minor procedures, as well as providing medicine and vitamins and helping patients with chronic and acute illness.

The University of Findlay's theatre program closes its 2013-2014 season with "The Walls," a 2009 drama by noted Chicago playwright Lisa Dillman. The show opened April 9 and runs through April 13 in the Egner Center for the Performing Arts, Powell Grimm Theatre. The University of Findlay is hosting the 2014 Juried Student Art Exhibition April 7-24, in the Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion, Dudley and Mary Marks Lea Gallery, on campus. Any UF student was eligible to enter artwork for consideration. Categories include painting, drawing and mixed media, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, design, digital photography, film photography and visual communication.

The history, law and gender studies faculty at The University of Findlay announces the 2014 initiates into the Xi-Sigma Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. Phi Alpha Theta is an honor society dedicated to the promotion of the study of history. Founded in 1921, the organization encourages research, publication, and the exchange of ideas among students, teachers, and writers.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has awarded stipends to 44 undergraduates to participate in research with a faculty mentor this summer.
